  • Congratulations to the following 7th and 8th Grade students who were selected for the St. Louis All-Suburban Honor Band! These students were selected out of of more than 600 auditions on Monday night. These students are: Colin Akers (french horn) Branden May (trumpet) Sean McGinnis (bass clarinet) Caroline Lewis (clarinet) Gavin Wilhelm (bassoon) Victoria Guliano (baritone) Myles Lawson (tuba) and Christian Boll (tuba). Way to go guys!!!

  • 6th, 7th & 8th Grade CLARINET and BASS CLARINET players! We have CLARINET tutoring after school today in the Band Room from 3:00 - 4:00. Bring your clarinet and be ready to play!

  • Honorís Art Club meets tonight after school. Please have a ride by 5pm.

  • 7th and 8th grade Choir members: Your fundraising items are waiting for you in the hallways outside the choir and band rooms. You MUST take your items home TODAY! With your teacherís permission, you may come downstairs during Advisory to get your items.

  • Attention NJHS Canned Food Drive Committee. Please come to Mrs. Walterís room on THURSDAY DURING ADVISORY for a brief meeting.

  • The NJHS shoebox committee will be on Monday Nov. 3rd after school until 3:50 in Mrs. Walterís Room.

  • If the staff and students could please donate any empty shoeboxes you may have to Mrs. Walter in room 217 for the upcoming Shoebox project, it would be appreciated!

  • Coach Sauerís advisory go to the fitness room today

  • 7th grade girls volleyball will have practice after school tomorrow in the gym from 3:00-3:45pm
Cross Country Event
Middle school students participated in the annual cross country race at Jefferson Barracks Park on Thursday, Sept. 18. The race is good exercise and a great way to build school comradery.†

Innovative Lesson on Instructions Made Possible Because Teacher Won Grant Money

Two Oakville Middle School teachers, Jennifer Walter and Anna Layton, were awarded grant money from the philanthropic website www.donorschoose.org. Click here to read more.†

Miss Layton got funding to purchase nearly 2,000 Legos for an innovative lesson about the scientific method and how to make instructions.

Locker Decorating
What's your pleasure? Wall paper? Carpet? Shelves? Nothing signals the start of another school year like Locker Decoration Day at OMS. On Wednesday, Aug. 13, students had the opportunity to add a little flair to their locker.

OMS Honored at National Convention!
OMS students and staff were honored for their designation as a School of Character at a national convention in mid-June.

 A special assembly was held for all Oakville Middle students on March 12, so the school could receive its banner for being a State School Of Character.
